Town Center in The Meadows is Reflective of
Original Planning for the Town of Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, COLO. — The Town Center, a nearly 300-acre mixed-use area in The Meadows, is being planned as a focal point for the community. Located at Meadows Parkway and Meadows Boulevard, the area is slated to provide residential homes, shops, cafes and workplaces. Residential groundbreaking for the Town Center in The Meadows is scheduled for late 2008.

Inspiration for the Town Center was based on the original planning for the Town of Castle Rock. A well-designed collaboration of home styles will allow for a compact and walkable collection of neighborhoods, found in many traditional small-town communities.

Along the streets in the Town Center, most garages are planned to be tucked into the alleys, and pedestrian-friendly, narrower streets and front porches will welcome the art of conversation among neighbors. Adding diversity to the Town Center streetscape are single-family homes, row houses and rental apartments that encourage a brief walk in a pair of tennis shoes instead of a drive in the car to grab a cup of coffee.

The Town Center, in addition to The Grange Cultural Arts Center, a community gathering place, is yet another example that The Meadows is being built on the concept that connectivity among people is at the heart of great places.

“We envision a hub of activity will be on the market street in the Town Center,” said Kristen Moore, marketing director at Castle Rock Development Company, developer of The Meadows. “Retailers, boutique style shops and cafes are envisioned for this area to generate an appealing streetscape for the people patronizing the area, as well as for the residents living in the lofts and apartments on the market street.” A 12-screen movie theater opened in the Town Center in 2005. It is Castle Rock’s first movie theater.

Offering neighborhood connectivity, trails that are planned for The Meadows will merge at the Town Center. And, parks, festival plazas and passive open spaces are planned as additional enhancements to the Town Center experience.
